MILANO – Per la prima volta a Milano, il Suzhou Ballet Theatre presenta “The Love Bridge – A ballet collection”, una serata che va oltre il semplice spettacolo di danza. In scena un mosaico di creazioni che intrecciano sogno e realtà, tradizione e innovazione: dal lirismo sospeso di The Dream Interrupted all’addio struggente di Farewell, dalla leggenda d’amore senza confini di The Love Bridge fino all’energia primordiale e visionaria de The Rite of Spring. Ogni quadro è un frammento di poesia che diventa movimento, un racconto universale di amore, destino e libertà.
Non solo un’occasione per scoprire l’eccellenza del balletto cinese contemporaneo, ma un invito a lasciarsi trasportare da un linguaggio artistico che supera i confini e che trasforma il palcoscenico in un ponte tra culture, epoche e sensibilità diverse.
LO SPETTACOLO
La serata, sotto la direzione artistica di Tan Yuanyuan, propone un viaggio di circa 100 minuti attraverso l’amore in tutte le sue forme: delicato, eterno, struggente, trasformativo.
Quattro coreografie di grande impatto, tra classico e contemporaneo, guideranno lo spettatore in un’esperienza unica:
- The Dream Interrupted – Ispirato al capolavoro The Peony Pavilion, racconta l’amore sospeso tra sogno e realtà di Du Liniang e Liu Mengmei.
- Farewell – Estratto da Glorious Clouds, mette in scena l’addio toccante tra due amanti divisi dal destino.
- The Love Bridge – Sotto la visione di Tan Yuanyuan, la leggenda di Niulang e Zhinu diventa simbolo di uguaglianza e forza dell’amore capace di superare ogni barriera.
- The Rite of Spring – Glen Tetley Legacy – La partitura di Stravinsky prende vita in una danza potente e visionaria che unisce balletto classico e danza moderna.
DIRETTRICE ARTISTICA E COMPAGNIA
Tan Yuanyuan, nata a Shanghai e formatasi alla prestigiosa Shanghai Dance School, ha costruito la sua carriera al San Francisco Ballet, diventando principal dancer e una delle interpreti cinesi più celebri a livello internazionale. Oggi guida il Suzhou Ballet Theatre con l’obiettivo di promuovere la danza come linguaggio universale e contemporaneo.

For the first time in Milan, the Suzhou Ballet Theatre presents “The Love Bridge – A Ballet Collection”, an evening that transcends the boundaries of traditional ballet. On stage, a mosaic of creations intertwines dream and reality, tradition and innovation: from the suspended lyricism of The Dream Interrupted to the heartbreaking farewell of Farewell, from the timeless legend of The Love Bridge to the primal, visionary energy of The Rite of Spring.
Each piece is a fragment of poetry translated into movement — a universal tale of love, destiny, and freedom.
More than an opportunity to discover the excellence of contemporary Chinese ballet, this gala is an invitation to be carried away by an artistic language that crosses borders and transforms the stage into a bridge between cultures, eras, and sensibilities.
THE PERFORMANCE
Under the artistic direction of Tan Yuanyuan, the evening offers a 100-minute journey through love in all its dimensions: delicate, eternal, tragic, and transformative.
Four powerful choreographies, spanning classical and contemporary ballet, will guide the audience through an unforgettable experience:
- The Dream Interrupted – Inspired by the masterpiece The Peony Pavilion, telling the love story between Du Liniang and Liu Mengmei, suspended between dream and reality.
- Farewell – An excerpt from Glorious Clouds, portraying the poignant goodbye of two lovers separated by fate.
- The Love Bridge – Created under the vision of Tan Yuanyuan, the legend of Niulang and Zhinu becomes a symbol of equality and the power of love to overcome any barrier.
- The Rite of Spring – Glen Tetley Legacy – Stravinsky’s score is reimagined in a raw, powerful dance that fuses classical ballet and modern dance in a bold, visionary language.
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR & COMPANY
Tan Yuanyuan, born in Shanghai and trained at the prestigious Shanghai Dance School, rose to international prominence as a principal dancer with the San Francisco Ballet, where she became one of the most celebrated Chinese ballerinas worldwide. Today, as Artistic Director of Suzhou Ballet Theatre, she continues her mission of promoting dance as a universal and contemporary language.
